WELCOME TO SUREEL ART SEASON 9
Again, most of the artwork in Sureel Art Season 9 is focused on the question "Who am I?".
The artworks that are being created through me by Existence are helping me to bring more clarity about my own being. With each artwork, I am becoming more aware of my false assumptions about myself.
I hope that you will like the artwork in this series, and maybe you will also get some messages from Existence that were meant for you.
You may also explore the other seasons (Season 8, Season 7, Season 6, etc.) for more unique and colorful wood mosaics, murals, and sculptures.
If you wish to purchase any artwork from this season, please feel free to contact me at +91 78376 11353 or Email me for more details.

Who am I? #103
Chasing the inner wild bull Wood Mosaic/Sculpture, 37 x 40 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria Many times, I feel a very strong presence, like a wild bull inside me. I can't see it, but I can feel its presence and its influence on my life. Sometimes it is very strong and aggressive; sometimes it is very harmonious; and sometimes it is just passive and silent. I am trying to follow in its footsteps and befriend it. But it seems that my inner bull is also on a m

Vanishing identities are giving birth to an inner presence. Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 36 x 37 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Gidderbaha, Pb, India In my view, the human mind and human society, for their own convenience, divide each unique human being into pieces and mark those pieces by coloring them according to their own perceptions. Because of this, the real form of every human being is hidden. Who is Sureel? A Hindu? Khatri? White? Indian? Austrian? Asian? NRI? Bank

The Real Game
Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 35 x 38 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Gidderbaha, Pb, India In school, I was told that the world I am living in is a fair world, everyone has equal opportunities and equal rights, the law is the same for everyone, and so on. But as I see it, the world is not fair at all. I don't see that a billionaire and a farm laborer have equal chances to get an equal and fair trial in any court, equal healthcare services, or equal educational opportunities

Religion and Religiousness
Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 30 x 24 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Gidderbaha, Pb, India Once in a while, a blessed person attains enlightenment, an experience of truth. As soon as that person is gone, people start making an organization with rules and regulations around that person's experience. This is how a religion is woven logically around an individual's experience of truth. In this artwork, I have tried to depict that a religion is an organization made around the r

The Invisible Witness Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 35 x 45 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria When, for the first time, I learned about animalistic instincts inside me, I was shocked. But later, when they are still there, I feel fine with them. Because now I feel someone else is also there inside me, like an invisible witness, watching all the activities silently. There is an invisible presence in me that can be felt but cannot be seen. Is it my real self, or i

The reality seems beyond reasoning Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 21 x 27 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria (Not Available) Q: Who created this world? A: God. Q: Who created God? A: ?? Q: Why are trees green? A: Because of chlorophyll. Q: Why do trees have chlorophyll? A: ?? When I realised that all questions provide only an endless chain of questions but no real answers about life around me, I got a strange feeling. All kinds of reasoning are absurd, but life i

The Inner Duality Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 24 x 30 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria There are some rare moments when my inner voices are silent; otherwise, inside me, I feel so many contradictory thoughts competing with each other. Good-bad, beautiful-ugly, masculine-feminine, old-young, logic-emotion, innocent-experienced... It is very difficult to figure out who is wrong and who is right. Wer bin ich? #99 Die innere Dualität Holzmosaik/ Skulptur, 61

Who am I? #98
Turiya, the Fourth Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 33 x 33 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria I feel there are many "I"s within me who, at different times, are used to wandering mainly in three different spheres. Sometimes, they wander in the sphere of bodily pleasures, sex, and food. At other times, they aggressively wander in the sphere of logic and emotions, where they get busy in music, dance, poetry, philosophy, politics, religion, and science. And there are

The Quiet Listener Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 22 x 29 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria As I see it, I have so many desires coming up and fading away continously, like sea waves. At different times, each desire tries to move me in a certain direction to achieve its own goal. Sometimes they struggle with each other to assert their own importance. But in the moments of relaxation, I feel an invisible and unresponsive presence inside me, listening quietly to my

The Inner Balance Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 21 x 27 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria As I observe, inside me, I see a competition between logical thoughts and strong emotions all the time. Sometimes logic tries hard to convince me that only logic is right. At other times, emotions try to prove their supremacy over everything. And it goes on all the time. Each happening in my life immediately triggers either a thought process or an emotional reaction. But t

A Flower Waiting to Bloom Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 23 x 28 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria Whenever I focus on the question "Who am I?", I feel myself as a seed with a certain potential. In my outward life, everything seems to be perfect: good health, nice work, family, friends, and so on. But sometimes, when I close my eyes and look inside, I feel like a tree, fully perfect, but still there is a feeling of something missing. Maybe the flowering of the t

Glimpses of the Middle Way Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 23 x 28 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Gidderbaha, Pb, India (Not Available) While sitting in my garden on a hot and humid full moon night, I was sipping whisky on the rocks and enjoying the soothing moonlight. After some time, again, the question arose: Who am I? I closed my eyes and started observing my body and my thoughts. A thought came, and it was suggested to bring a table fan to make the atmosphere a bit coole

Who am I? #93
Lost in the crowd? Wood Mosaic/ Sculpture, 23 x 16 inches, 2023 Sureel Kumar Location: Vienna, Austria (Not Available) If I carefully observe myself—my thoughts, my habits, my actions, and my responses—I find a crowd of mysterious creatures in me. Out of this crowd, one creature who is logical in nature always tries to dominate others. But strangely, most of the time, the emotional ones won. But I am unable to recognise my real self in this crowd. Who am I? Wer bin ich?
